About me

I've been programming since 2016. In school I learned Java and continued with it for Android development. I gradually moved to Kotlin, and then on to other platforms and languages — iOS (Swift), web (PHP, JS), and cross-platform Flutter (Dart). I've worked both in teams and solo, and communicated with clients.

I've made plenty of mistakes and I'm still learning. I like broadening my horizons and I'm interested in new technologies as well as older ones that passed me by. For example, during my "bathroom sessions" 🚽 I read an old book about XSLT and used it to build a simple personal website with the goal of IE 5 or 6 compatibility (I don't remember which anymore). These days I'm working on a family web app in Laravel, using AI tools along the way.

I'm rarely satisfied with my own work. As soon as I finish something, I immediately see possible improvements — and maybe that's a good thing, maybe it's a flaw, I don't know. 🧠 I like work done well, but sometimes that slows me down, and today's world is often just too fast.

By the way, I also have a chef-waiter apprenticeship certificate. Luckily for everyone, I'm a better programmer than a cook.

Away from the PC screen, you'll find me in front of other screens, or with my family. I enjoy reading and watching movies or riding a bike.

I used to want to be famous; now I just want to be rich. But actually, I already am — everything's just gotten more expensive somehow...

Experience

2025 – present · Studio Animato – PHP Developer

  • Websites and e-shops on an in-house CMS (framework-less PHP, occasionally Nette), MariaDB, Docker, Git/GitLab.
  • Integrations with Ecomail, Pohoda, and other systems; direct client communication and support.
  • Introduced the Claude Code AI assistant into the development workflow.

2022 – 2025 · Sportisimo – Android / iOS Developer

  • Development of a hybrid mobile app (WebView) – Android (Hilt, Flow, Retrofit, Room) and iOS (SwiftUI, Composable Architecture).
  • Prototypes in SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, and Flutter; handling JS injection, HTTP headers, and deeplinks.
  • Notifications for the public app (Exponea/Bloomreach) via a shared module, also for the PDA app.
  • Revived an internal PDA app by decompiling the APK, and continued its development.
  • The above-mentioned JS injection, HTTP headers, notifications – in-depth solutions and analysis for non-standard implementations and cross-platform unification.
  • JS and PHP (MVC) development.

2016 – 2022 · KAKTUS Software – Android Developer

  • Development of native Android apps (Java/Kotlin), MVVM + REST API; libraries including Room, Retrofit, and others; Agile/Scrum development.
  • About three years on a team building apps for controlling and servicing security, heating, and other systems.
  • Additional apps for clients in IoT, tracking, and replacing paper-based administration and invoicing.

Projects

  • Ticket reservation and sales system – my first web application in PHP and JavaScript: seat selection, online ordering, and on-site sales. Built for an actual event, ran as a one-off.
  • Family organization app – Laravel, developed with AI tools. Written mainly so I could use it myself.
  • Block-based CMS – a lightweight CMS in PHP and SQLite, with no build step: content is assembled from blocks. This site itself runs on it.
